Existing conditions and a limited budget equated to a real design challenge. Inspiration was found in the vintage terrazzo tile for our color palette and design. The addition of custom furnishings, a three-panel commissioned art piece, and a large linear light fixture were now the correct scale for this voluminous space. The concierge desk was refaced with a sleek crocodile-inspired material and the bulkhead above it removed. Over 20 custom-fabricated wood and metal column facades were installed to aid in updating this desperately dated space. We took this lackluster entry and transformed it into an elegant, timeless, and welcoming lobby.
