MARKETING INTERN

SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a highly creative Marketing Intern to aid in the development of marketing tools for our bricks and mortar retail boutique. This position involves contributing knowledge and experience-based practices, while working closely with the founders, to continue to support local artists and artisans by selling hand-made goods in their retail boutique. The boutique is also an extension of the founders Interior Design firm and carries home décor items and other lifestyle products and goods. The perfect candidate has a passion for small business development and is looking to gain extensive hands-on experience in a variety of related disciplines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of a project lead, the primary responsibilities will include the following:

Marketing Services Outreach for Retail Boutique

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for market outreach

  • Contribute to the creation of marketing tools, i.e. newsletters, brochures, flyers, media toolkit, etc.

  • Research market trends and demographics to present for analysis

  • Assist with social media platforms - Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, HOUZZ – with a goal to increase followers, brand awareness, online presence, and relevancy

  • Create marketing tools for retail boutique, in-house events, and initiatives

  • Assist in event coordination, planning, and engagement of events and initiatives

  • Assist in research on effectiveness of in-house and public marketing tools such as LOOM and YouTube and IG Reels

  • Participate in general office/administrative tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be actively enrolled and engaged in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related-field, or have relative experience.

  • Must be punctual.

  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail marketing campaigns (Mailchimp).

  • Must be flexible and proactive in taking on assignments and responsibilities and have an overall willingness to learn.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Graphic Design skills a plus.

  • Must have high organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

This is an unpaid internship that can be used for college credit.
